Monthly Dances
We meet the second Wednesday of each month from 7:30
to 11:00 p.m.
We are lucky to be able to hold our dances on one of the best floating, maple dance floors
in the state of Florida:

Please join us for plenty of general dancing,
mixers, refreshments, entertainment, and lots of fun. Every third dance is a covered
dish affair. See the Event Calendar to see the date of the
upcoming dances.
Membership
Whether you are a Championship level competitor or a
bronze beginner, an accomplished social dancer or not even sure whether the song playing
is a Cha-cha or a Quickstep, there is a place for you in the Southern Star Chapter of USA
Dance. It is the perfect way to support dance in the area and the country. It
is also a good way to meet other dancers and find more venues to dance and to get
support in your dancing for all you beginners. For the Competitor, being a USA Dance
member is required to compete in the many USA Dance Competitions both locally and around
the country.

August will be our membership renewal month. We will have a table set up at the
dance on August 14 to take renewals. If a member renews, or a non-member joins
SouthernStar on that night, then admission to the dance is free for that evening.
This means that new members can become a social dance member for only $12, which will
easily be saved by the reduced price for dance admissions in the future; you can't
lose. Come see us at our renewal table at the dance.

For any one interested, the chapter is always in need of volunteers for a variety of
positions. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to help and an
enthusiastic attitude is all that is required. We welcome everyone to join in
keeping our chapter a strong and active influence in the dance community. Plus, it
is fun.
